LTC (Ret) Carl David
Carl David served 20 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Air Defense Artillery and he is married to Amy and with two children, Sarah a college junior and Andrew a freshman in high school. After receiving his Regular Army ROTC Commission as a Distinguished Military Graduate as an Air Defense Artillery 2d Lieutenant, he served in a variety of leadership positions including: Platoon, Battery, Battalion and Division Staff, Army ROTC Professor of Military Science; Combat Systems Training Developer and Faculty at the Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth KS; Commander Rapier Battery British Army Exchange Program British Army of the Rhine, Operations Division Chief USMC Staff Planning School, Amphibious Base San Diego, CA and Joint Curriculum Chief and Army Subject Matter Expert Instructor at the U.S. Navy Point Loma Fleet Training Center, San Diego, CA before retiring in 1994. His military awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, The Army Commendation Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was also awarded the Silver Schutzenschnur and Leistungs Abseitshung from the German Army. After retirement, he served as a military contractor serving worldwide training for international governments and military units in military operations, crisis management, foreign consequence management and special operations as a Northrop Grumman Information Systems contractor for Battle Command Training Program and the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, U. S. Army Europe Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany. Carl served as Director of Program Management Office at a firm in San Diego developing US Army Command and Control software.
Carl David has served as the Director for Columbia College at the Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, California since July 2009. Carl has been very active in the community of the Greater Los Angeles Area serving as a volunteer on the Executive Board of Directors of the Association of United States Army Greater LA Chapter and as Vice President for Veterans Programs, AUSA/Liberty Mutual Fundraiser Golf Tournament Chairman and AUSA Army Birthday Ball Chairman. He is also a member of Chambers of Commerce in Los Alamitos California serving on the Wings Wheels and Rotors Exposition Executive Committee. In his hometown of Laguna Niguel, he has served as the volunteer Chairman on the Executive Committee of the Laguna Niguel Holiday Parade, the largest holiday parade in Orange County California for the past 14 years. Carl was recently commissioned by the Laguna Niguel City Council as a member of the Military Support Committee. Carl’s volunteer work was recently recognized as 2013 Citizen of the Year for Laguna Niguel, California, population 65,000.
Carl’s education includes B.S. in Education and 2LT commission, McNeese State University, Lake Charles, LA; B.A. in Political Science Central Methodist University in Fayette, MO, and Masters in Education Administration from University of Missouri in Columbia, MO with military education includes Command and General Staff Colleges for both US Marine Corps Quantico, VA and the US Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
